Monday Night Football Recap Stuck
Posted on October 2, 2012 at 12:41 PM.

Is Tony Romo an elite Quarterback? Remember when we all had this debate before the season? This is the type of game that scares the hell out of you as a head coach. And the worst part -- this is the second time he's thrown five interceptions on a Monday Night Football game, becoming the first person to do so.

In the Cowboys 34-18 loss at home against the Chicago Bears last night, Romo looked awful while the Bears defense did what they do best, forced turnovers. Chicago returned two of Romo's interceptions back for touchdowns, while Jay Cutler was able to avoid a big turnover night for the Bears offense.

While Cutler did have a fumble, he was an impressive 18-of-24 for 275 yards and two touchdowns. The Cowboys still boast the league's best passing defense in yards per game given up at 169.5, even after the 275 Cutler put up. It was an impressive night for the the Bears enigmatic Quarterback.

Clearly, it was a rough night all around for the Cowboys. Although some hope did shine in the form of a neck-bearded bandit named Kyle Orton. Will a Quarterback controversy be brewing in Dallas? Not likely, but Orton proved why he's a valuable backup in this league.

The Bears defense is as ferocious as it has ever been, and despite forcing five interceptions, I feel like the defense may be being overlooked by the four-letter network. If you look at the headline for last nights game it should say "Romo's Woes" and should say how the running game did nothing and Dez Bryant dropped a few passes, but Romo needs to play better.

Play better? How about give the Bears defense some credit and not chalk it up immediately to Romo playing poorly? They are the ones that shut down the running game, although Dallas did almost abandon it entirely with just 14 rushing attempts. They also are the ones that pressures Romo in to those interceptions.

The loss drops the Cowboys to 2-2, and into a three-way tie for 2nd in the NFC East behind the Eagles. Meanwhile, the win puts the Bears in a tie for 1st in the NFC North with the Vikings at 3-1, and leaves both teams a game ahead of the Packers.

Do you know what the worst thing ever is... Tony Romo lost me my matchup in fantasy with that last pick. He gets benched and his backup comes in and throws for a frickin touchdown. I ended up losing by 2 points because Romo refused to throw the ball to his teammates.

After that game he belongs in Sanchez territory.

I always thought he was overrated. I give the Bears defense credit, because they are good, but Romo threw a couple of passes that he had no business throwing and he paid for it.

I had already dropped him off my fantasy team a week ago.
